An investigation is continuing after a man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg on the Central Coast last night.
About 7.15pm (Wednesday 7 October 2026), emergency services were called to a home on Clements Drive, Avoca Beach, following reports of a shooting.
Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District attended and located a 39-year-old man inside the home suffering a gunshot wound to his leg.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to hospital.
Police have since been advised the man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced under Strike Force Mectra.
Initial inquiries suggest a person, believed to be known to the resident, attended the home before a firearm was discharged.
