An investigation is underway after $350,000 worth of oysters were stolen near Taree earlier this year.
About 11am yesterday (Tuesday 25 August 2026), officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District received a report of theft at an oyster farm in Scotts Creek, Oxley Island.
Police were told earlier this year approximately 320 aquaculture oyster bags containing 400,000 juvenile oysters were allegedly stolen from the property.
The estimated total value of the oysters stolen is approximately $350,000.
A crime scene has been established with an investigation into the incident underway.
