An investigation is underway after a driver was injured in a crash following a pursuit in Sydney’s west this morning.
About 2am (Wednesday 24 June 2026), police were patrolling the Blacktown area after receiving information there were concerns for a man’s welfare in the area.
While searching the area officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command have located the man – aged 32 – driving a Toyota utility near a shopping centre on Patrick Street, Blacktown.
When police approached the Toyota, the driver drove off and allegedly failed to stop when directed to causing a pursuit to be initiated.
The pursuit continued throughout the Blacktown area before being terminated after road spikes were successfully deployed against the utility.
A short time later, police were called to the intersection of Richmond and Llandilo Road, following reports of a crash.
On arrival, officers found that the utility had collided into a power pole.
The 32-year-old driver was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.
Police have since been told the man is now stable.
An investigation into the incident has commenced with officers investigating the crash scene.
