Investigation underway into death of teen – north of Coffs Harbour

An investigation is underway by detectives attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District after a teenage boy died after being stabbed overnight.

Emergency services were called to Pacific Street, Corindi Beach, 26km north of Coffs Harbour, shortly after 5.40pm (Sunday 13 August 2023), and found a 16-year-old boy suffering a stab wound to his thigh.

Police rendered first aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and took the boy to Coffs Harbour Health Campus; however, he died shortly after.

A crime scene has been established and investigations commenced under Strike Force Cored, assisted by detectives from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

As inquiries continue, officers have spoken to a number of people at the location and conducted a canvass of the area.
