An investigation is underway following a two-vehicle crash in the state’s south this morning.
About 4.10am today (Friday 17 July 2026), emergency services were called to the northbound lanes of the Hume Highway at Breadalbane, about 32km south- west of Goulburn, following reports of a heavy vehicle crash and fire.
Police have been told a road train and a B-double collided whilst travelling northbound.
Fire and Rescue NSW have responded, along with officers from The Hume Police District.
The driver of a road train – a 31-year-old man – was treated at the scene or minor injuries, before being taken to Yass hospital for mandatory testing.
The driver of a B-double remains unaccounted for.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the Hume Highway are closed. Motorists should avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
The Hume Highway at Breadalbane is closed in both directions and with the northbound lanes expected to be closed for several hours.
Diversions are in place via The Federal Hwy and Barton Hwy via Canberra.
