Investigators work to identify man after Reservoir aggravated burglary

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a man following an aggravated burglary in Reservoir last month.

Investigators understand four unknown men broke into a Purinuan Road address about 8.15am on 16 March.

The victim, who was home at the time, saw the men in his back garage and ran out to confront the offenders.

One of the men then struck the victim with a bladed weapon before all four men took off and drove away in a white Toyota HiAce van.

The 37-year-old victim sustained serious injuries during the incident and was transported to hospital.

Detectives have today released a computer-generated image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance, aged in his early 20s, with short hair and a goatee beard.

He was wearing a puffer jacket and grey pants at the time.

Anyone with information or who recognises the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
