Investigators work to identify pair after Armadale aggravated burglary

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for help to identify a man and woman following an aggravated burglary in Armadale on Monday (23 March).

Investigators understand a man and woman reversed an SUV, believed to be a dark Nissan Dualis, down a laneway off Lambeth Avenue about 9am, accessing a private garage to a Willis Street home.

The offenders loaded the back of the vehicle with two specialised bicycles and a ladder.

The victim, who was home at the time, saw what was happening and ran outside to confront the offenders.

He grabbed onto the man, who was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle at the time.

While the victim was half inside the vehicle, the offenders began accelerating out of the laneway onto Lambeth Avenue towards High Street, forcing him to let go and fall onto the street.

The 46-year-old Armadale man sustained minor grazing and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The vehicle, which also sustained damage after hitting the side of a garage while driving away, was last seen travelling west along High Street towards Orrong Road.

Detectives have today released two composite images of a man and woman who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries, along with CCTV vision of the vehicle involved.

The man is perceived as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid-30s and clean-shaven with a solid build and fair hair with a fringe.

He was wearing sunglasses at the time.

The woman is also perceived as Caucasian in appearance and aged in her mid-30s with brown hair past her shoulders.

The vehicle is likely to have damage to the right-hand side.

Anyone with information, who recognises the pair or vehicle, or who may have dash cam vision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
