It’s a ‘Py-Jamming Party’ on Shields Street

Students from Tafe’s Creative Art are set to get you out of bed and rocking with “The Pyjama Party” in Shields Street on Sunday (13 October).

This weekend’s Sunday on Shields program adopts a pyjama party theme, with For Earth Mermaid and Book Nook to provide entertainment for the little ones at the parent’s retreat from 11am to 2pm, while Tafe students will be rocking from midday to 2pm

The tenth in an 11-week program, Shields Street will come to life this Sunday at 11am with a full program of entertainment that also includes free face painter, jumping castle, horizontal bungy and glitter art, Zumba in the City, and live music from atop Miss Nemo the Kombi.

Cairns Museum will also be open from 10am-2pm (fees apply).

Those heading into the CBD are reminded there is free parking is available

on-street and at the Lake Street multi-storey carpark on Sundays.

Sunday on Shields

  • 10am to 2pm: Cairns Museum will be open (fees do apply)
  • 11am to midday: Zumba in the City
  • 11am to 2pm: For Earth Mermaid and Book Nook
  • 11am to 2pm: Face painter, jumping castle, horizontal bungy and glitter artist
  • 11am to 2pm: Local hand-made market stalls
  • Midday to 2pm: The Pyjama Party by Tafe Creative Arts
