It’s time to reconnect

Swan Hill Rural City Council is offering $50 Swan Hill and Robinvale Euston Association Gift Cards to encourage communities to reconnect.

The project is part of the Victorian Governments Community Activation and Social Isolation Initiative.

Swan Hill Rural City Council Community Support Coordinator, Emily Siely said the gift cards are being offered to local community and social groups who run free virtual and or COVID-19 safe competitions or activities that actively engage new and/or existing members.

“We understand that 2020 has been a difficult year for community and social groups and we want to assist them in reconnecting,” she said.

Ms Siely said it is now more important than ever for communities to keep connected to support a happy and healthy wellbeing.

“It’s a small way that we can encourage groups to get active again and back to doing what they love most,” she said.

Ms Siely said to be eligible applicants must be an existing social or community group located within the municipality.

“We are really looking forward to seeing what ideas groups come up with,” she said.

“Gift card will are an incentive to actively engage members but we hope that they will also give the group a boost as well,” she added.
