JACET charges in Darwin

Northern Territory Police arrested a 30-year-old man in Tiwi yesterday in relation to online child sex offences.

Detectives from the NT Police Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team executed a search warrant on the man’s mobile telephone on Monday, which contained child abuse material.

The 30-year-old has since been charged with the following Commonwealth offences:

  • Transmit child abuse material
  • Access child abuse material
  • Solicit child abuse material
  • Possession of child abuse material

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Acting Sergeant Mark Cronin said, “This behaviour has no place within our community.

“The Northern Territory JACET will continue to work with our national partners to disrupt and prosecute anyone involved in producing, transmitting or consuming child abuse material.”
