JACET Charges – West Arnhem Region

Northern Territory Police have charged a 45-year-old man with child abuse offences in a West Arnhem community.

Detectives from the NT Police Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team executed a search warrant on the man’s person yesterday afternoon, locating a mobile telephone that contained child abuse material.

He has been charged with:

  • 6 x Transmit child abuse material
  • 1 x Possess or control child abuse material
  • 1 x Access child abuse material

He was remanded and will appear in Darwin Local Court tomorrow.

Detective Sergeant Mark Cronin said, “Child abuse in all its forms is reprehensible and anyone who views child abuse material is committing a crime.

“Members of the public who have any information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
