The Kangaroo Valley community held an official opening over the weekend to mark the completion of the Kangaroo Valley Pump Track.
The Kangaroo Valley community was the primary driver of the project and oversaw upgrade works to convert the BMX facility into a Pump Track.
The track was designed for beginners to the sport as well as advanced riders.
The community applied for several grants to finance the upgrade works.
Shoalhaven City Council provided funding secured through the NSW Government Office of Sport, Wollongong 2022 Legacy Partnership Program Round 1 grant, for $16,600 and co-contributed $17,000 to the project.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley was delighted to see the community-led project now open to the public.
“I congratulate the Kangaroo Valley community for their hard work and dedication to the project,” Clr Findley said.
“The new Pump Track is a fantastic asset to the local community and visitors to the Kangaroo Valley,” Clr Findley said.
“Council was pleased to provide funding to support the development of the Kangaroo Valley Pump Track. The new public facility helps to promote healthy lifestyles for people of all ages and all abilities in the region”, Clr Findley said.
The Pump Track is located north of the Hampton Bridge on Moss Vale Road in Kangaroo valley.
