Kerb with enthusiasm and hit your Wollongong parking goals

With two home games for the Illawarra Hawks this weekend, we’re sharing our three hot tips for parking in the Wollongong CBD this weekend.

Park Easy

Did you know there are more than 5,000 car spots in the CBD, so there’s something that works for everyone. Remember, parking on the street and in Council car parks is free on weekday evenings after 4.30pm. It’s about an 11-minute walk from the car park on George Street, Wollongong, a 9-minute walk from the Council car park on Stewart Street opposite Aldi, and a 3-minute walk to the WIN Entertainment Centre from the car park at the southern end of Marine Drive.

Step to it and train to the game

Leave the car at home and catch the train to Wollongong Station. The WIN Entertainment Centre is an easy 20-minute walk from Wollongong Train Station. If you walk along Burelli Street, it’s more or less flat the whole way. Plus, you can always detour through the Crown Street Mall and Lower Crown and Corrimal streets to pick up a bite to eat along the way.

Can’t beat the bus

Unlock pro-level parking and catch the bus. If hopping off in Burelli Street is an option on your route, it’s just an easy 7-minute walk from Wollongong City Council’s Administration Building. On Friday, you can also get to the stadium on the free Gong Shuttle. You can catch it from North Wollongong Train Station or park at North Wollongong Beach and join the bus at Bourke Street outside the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach.
