KERBSIDE WASTE COLLECTION UPDATE 19 July

City of Port Phillip
We’ve got 21 Citywide trucks out in St Kilda East and Balaclava today, attending to scheduled collection services and missed bins. And our redeployed Council staff are continuing to support the Citywide fleet, with three Council trucks working on missed bin collections across Port Phillip.
Our team is working closely with Citywide every day to ensure the maps they are using are an accurate reflection of our kerbside waste collection neighbourhoods. We’re providing marked-up maps daily to ensure accuracy and to avoid repeating missed pickups.
If any of your bins have not been emptied by the morning after your scheduled kerbside collection day, please report the missed bins to us as soon as possible via the Snap Send Solve app or through My Port Phillip on our website. Capturing missed bin reports is important because it:
  • Identifies for our contractors exact locations where bin collection errors are occurring.
  • Captures critical data that feeds into Citywide’s maps for service improvement and accuracy
  • Enables us to send out Council crews to collect any missed bins as soon as possible.
We are continuing to work through the kerbside waste collection issues with Citywide, and are looking forward to restoration of service levels for everyone in our community.
In the meantime, Port Phillip residents can still access our Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) at no charge, if you need to drop off any mixed recycling or bagged garbage that has been missed in the scheduled kerbside collections. Visit the RRC from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm on weekdays or between 9 am and 1 pm on weekends and show proof of your address at the gate to gain free entry.
