Townsville City Council is encouraging residents in low-lying areas to take precautions ahead of king tides expected from Sunday.
The king tide is forecast to reach 3.77m at 8.05pm on Sunday, followed by further peaks of 3.96m at 8.48pm on Monday, 4.02m at 9.31pm on Tuesday, 3.96m at 10.15pm on Wednesday and 3.77m at 10.57pm on Thursday.
Council recommends residents in areas prone to minor flooding during king tides take necessary precautions.
Suburbs like South Townsville and Railway Estate may be impacted, along with Hanran Street and Ogden Street in the city.
Motorists are asked to observe any warnings and road closures.
