Know Your Creek, Know Your Impact: These Creeks Connect Us Screening

Georges River Council

Council is hosting a community screening of These Creeks Connect Us at Hurstville Library on Thursday 8 October.

This short documentary explores the connections between our homes, communities, and waters. The film follows a journey by kayak along Prospect Creek to the Georges River. It invites the community to notice how everyday actions influence our ecosystem.

After the screening, attendees can chat with the Georges Riverkeeper staff. They will be available to share information and discuss the local waterways.

These Creeks Connect Us was produced by Georges Riverkeeper with support from:

  • The Sydney Water Community Grants Program.

  • Fairfield City Council.

  • Georges Riverkeeper Member Councils: Bayside, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Georges River, Liverpool and Sutherland Shire.

Together, we are working to reduce pollution, restore local creeks, remove litter and help communities connect with nature.

Georges River Council’s Mayor Elise Borg said, “These Creeks Connect Us is more than a film about our waterways. It showcases how our everyday actions affect our ecosystem.”

“I commend Georges Riverkeeper, and everyone involved in bringing this important project to life. Thank you for raising awareness on how we can all play a role in protecting our natural environment for generations to come”.

“I encourage residents to come along to the screening and learn how simple actions can make a positive difference”.
