Knuckle dusters, ammunition and drugs seized; man charged at Tweed Heads, NSW

A man will face court today charged with drugs and weapons offences on the state’s Far North Coast.

About 11.45am yesterday (Tuesday 10 September 2019), police attached to the Tweed/Byron Target Action Group (TAG) were patrolling Kirkwood Road, Tweed Heads South when they stopped a Holden Commodore and spoke with the driver – a 24-year-old man.

A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly located cash, cannabis and two sets of knuckle dusters.

He was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.

Later that day, police executed a search warrant at a home on Sunset Place, Tweed Heads West where they allegedly located and seized MDMA, cannabis leaf, cannabis seed, dimethyltryptamine, methylamphetamine, a number of pharmaceutical drugs, knuckle dusters and ammunition.

The 24-year-old man was charged with deal with proceeds of crime, possess ammunition without permit, two counts of supply prohibited drug greater than indictable quantity, three counts of possess prohibited weapon and six counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to face Tweed Heads Local Court today (Wednesday 11 September 2019).
