Labor Senator Kristina Keneally will join NSW Teachers Federation acting president Henry Rajendra at tonight’s NSW Teachers Federation forum on education in Woolgoolga.

NSW Teachers Federation acting president Henry Rajendra said public schools were missing out on billions of dollars in extra funding that should have been delivered in 2018 and 2019.

“Scott Morrison’s idea of a fair go is to cut $14 billion from public schools and hand billions extra to wealthy private schools,” Mr Rajendra said.

“He has turned his back on kids in public schools. His plan will leave 99 per cent of public schools below a national resource standard and 99 per cent of private schools at that standard or above it,” he said.

“Labor’s federal election commitment to invest $14.1 billion in our public schools is vitally important for local school communities. Bill Shorten’s $3.3 billion commitment for public school funding in the first three years is a very welcome game-changer for public schools Australia wide.”
