Labor is bringing the roar to Phillip Island with Supercars returning from 2027.
Minister for Major Events Anthony Carbines joined Tickford Racing and Walkinshaw TWG Racing teams to announce Phillip Island will host a final series round of the Repco Supercars Championship for five years from 2027 to 2031.
The return of Supercars to Phillip Island will bring the much-loved sport back for the first time since 2019.
The Repco Supercars Championship is Australia’s leading touring car category.
The event will feature the best drivers from Australia and New Zealand racing high-performance Ford Mustangs, Toyota GR Supras and Chevrolet Camaros.
The inaugural Phillip Island Festival of Motoring has also been confirmed for 12-14 March 2027.
The three-day festival will complement the popular Motorsport Classic with new motoring experiences.
These events will mean more customers for local businesses, accommodation providers, hospitality venues and tourism operators across the Bass Coast.
The Carroll Labor Government has a strong record of tourism investment on Phillip Island, including $4.7 million for the Phillip Island Hot Springs and $5 million for the world-famous Penguin Parade.
