Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, the Hon Lily D’Ambrosio MP, presented awards at the online ceremony on Friday 26 November 2021.

The Victorian Landcare Awards recognise people and groups from around Victoria for their outstanding contributions to preserving Victoria’s landscapes.

The Victorian Government has invested in Landcare since the movement was established 35 years ago by former premier Joan Kirner, and the then-Victorian Farmers Federation president Heather Mitchell.

That support continues with the Government providing $51.9 million over the next four years to deliver ‘unique biodiversity protection through community-driven action’, which includes the Victorian Landcare Program.

And all this vital work in Landcare and environmental volunteering helps us to meet targets set in Protecting Victoria’s Environment – Biodiversity 2037 – the state’s plan to stop the decline of our native plants and animals and improve our natural environment.
