Langford Incidents Charges

Cannington Detectives have charged a man on relation to a series of incidents in Langford yesterday, Saturday 25 May 2024, including one incident which a man was seriously injured.
About 5:35pm, a man aged in his 30’s was in his vehicle on Woodmore Road, Langford, when he was approached by an unknown male person. The male person spoke to the victim, and when the victim opened his car door it will be alleged the male person punched him to his face. The victim drove away to safety.
About 6.45pm, a man aged in his 20’s attended a service station on Nicholson Road, Langford and exited his vehicle. He was approached by an unknown male person who was acting in an aggressive manner. The victim returned to his vehicle for safety and locked his doors. It will be alleged the male approached the vehicle and took hold a door handle, and pulled the door handle off the vehicle before walking away.
About 10:00pm, a man aged in his 20’s attended a service station on Nicholson Road, Langford. He approached the ‘night counter’ to make a purchase. An unknown male person approached the same night counter and it will be alleged he pushed the victim, before punching him to his face. The force of the punch caused the victim to fall backwards and hit his head on the concrete forecourt, rendering him unconscious. The male person left the scene, however a member of the public followed him and provided police with information on his whereabouts. The victim received life-threatening injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John WA.
A short time later a 30-year-old man was arrested at a residence on Woodmore Road, Langford. He has since been charged by Cannington Detectives in relation to the three above incidents. The 30-year-old Langford man has been charged with:
– Grievous Bodily Harm
– Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm
– Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Sunday 26 May 2024.
