Large hydroponic setup dismantled, NSW

Police are investigating after a large hydroponic setup was located on the state’s Mid North Coast.

About 1.20pm yesterday (Sunday 19 September 2021), emergency services were called to a rural property on Willi Willi Road, Turners Flat, after reports of a large amount of smoke.

Upon arrival, crews from Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife Service attended to contain a blaze, which had spread into nearby bushland.

Police observed several greenhouses on the property which were found to contain an estimated 2000 cannabis plants varying in maturity.

The estimated potential street value of the plants located is around $6 million.

A crime scene was established and held overnight; with further officers deployed today (Monday 20 September 2021) to dismantle the hydroponic setup.

The plants will be seized and destroyed.
