The Carnarvon Highway has reopened between Weelmelah and Garah, north of Moree, after being closed due to flooding.
But other major roads remain closed including:
In the state’s North West:
- The Kamilaroi Highway is closed between Walgett and Brewarrina.
- The Silver City Highway is closed between Tibooburra and the Queensland border.
In the state’s Far West:
- The Cobb Highway is closed between Wilcannia and Ivanhoe.
In the State’s Central West:
- Lachlan Valley Way is closed between Driftway Road and the Newell Highway at Jemalong, west of Forbes.
In the Illawarra:
- The Illawarra Highway (Terry Street) is closed between the M1 Princes Motorway and Taylor Road at Albion Park.
Motorists are advised to take extra care in flood-affected areas, be prepared for conditions to change quickly, and never drive through floodwaters.
In addition to state managed roads, some local roads managed by councils are also affected.
