Across the Northern Rivers a new community education campaign, Let’s Get Our Scrap Together, will be launched Thursday 23 June at 2pm at Red Earth Farmers in Fernleigh.
The aim of the campaign is to help residents make the most of food and organics recycling.
The Let’s Get Our Scrap Together Campaign aims to reduce the amount of food waste lost to landfill and ensure every scrap is captured through the green bin system, where it can be recycled into high-quality compost.
The campaign is being launched at Red Earth Farmers in Fernleigh, where local farmers Neil and Belinda Fortune are proud to showcase their use of the compost produced by the Lismore green waste composting facility.
For residents with a green bin service, using it correctly is a simple way each and every one of us can contribute towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
To ensure you’re making every scrap count, visit www.newaste.org.au or contact Council to explore what’s happening in your local community.
