NT Government

The Territory Labor Government is supporting families and offering affordable recreation activities for the community to enjoy.

Since reopening following a $3.1 million upgrade, the Leanyer Recreation Park has become an even more popular destination for families trying to beat the heat.

The popularity of the new features at the water playground has exceeded expectations with visitor numbers surpassing initial predictions.

Before the water playground reopened in December 2022 it was expected 150,000 patrons would visit the park in 2023.

But so far in 2023 more than 240,000 visitors have enjoyed the free facility.

The new features introduced in the upgrade, including a bird nest seat swing, spray tunnel, water weaver and a team blaster, have all been a hit.

The Territory Labor Government will continue to invest in facilities that enhance the Territory lifestyle.
