Lease Opportunity In Council-owned Norlane Buildings

The City of Greater Geelong has launched a search for community groups and businesses interested in leasing two Council-owned buildings in Norlane.

Previously home to a childcare centre known as City Learning and Care – Trudy Moritz and a maternal child health facility, the two buildings at 19 Sparks Road are now vacant.

This EOI process is an invitation for interested parties to demonstrate that the property will be suited to their organisation’s needs.

The buildings are intended to be leased together with a land area of approx. 1765 square metres.

It is likely that investment in renewing the facilities to make them fit for use will be required.

Greater Geelong Mayor Trent Sullivan

We’re keen to hear proposals from interested community groups and businesses with ideas to give these buildings new life.

We’re especially hoping to see the site returned to being a place that brings benefit for the local community.

Deputy Mayor Anthony Aitken

The Council regularly receives requests for space, especially in the northern suburbs from our new migrant and refugee community groups.

I am proud we are calling for Expression of Interest from the community to save and repurpose this space.

Expressions of interest can be made until 5:00pm Friday 26 April 2024 via the Have Your Say page.

The community is also invited to have its say about the type of uses it would like to see in the buildings, and these responses will be considered as part of the City’s assessment of proposals.

The City will assess all submissions and may enter into a lease with a preferred business or organisation.
