The Leeton Shire Library is excited to introduce “Community Compass”, a new monthly event aimed at fostering community connections in a welcoming environment.

The inaugural event will kick off on Friday, 9 February 2024, from 10.00am to 11.30am at the Leeton Shire Library, with subsequent gatherings scheduled every second Friday of the month.

The event offers a warm and welcoming space for community members to come together, share experiences, and forge new friendships. The community is encouraged to join in to engage in conversations, improve their English, and discover shared interests in a safe environment.

Library Supervisor Rachel Cody expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “Community Compass is more than just an event; it’s a platform for building meaningful connections within our community. Loneliness and social isolation are common challenges, and we believe this program will provide a valuable opportunity for individuals to connect with others and feel a sense of belonging.”

Attendees can look forward to complimentary morning tea provided during each session, adding to the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. No bookings are required and everybody is welcome, making it accessible for all members of the community to participate.
