Library meal sessions deliver money-saving tips

Tips on how to eat for good health and the environment will be discussed at a Logan Libraries information session this month.

The session on adopting a vegetarian lifestyle is from 10.30am to noon on Saturday, August 27 at Logan Central Library.

Valerie Pearson, from Green Living Australia, will share her tips on a balanced vegetarian lifestyle which can provide health benefits such as a reduced risk of chronic diseases.

A budget-friendly meal-planning session is scheduled for 10.30am to noon this Saturday, August 20, at Beenleigh Library.

Reducing food waste not only helps save money, it can also lead to a reduction in the amount of meat consumed which can be good for economic and health reasons

The session does not include cooking demonstrations but will cover meal planning, shopping lists, using leftovers and the best ways to package and store meals.

Everyone attending will develop a meal plan and create their own shopping list.

When people go online to register for these events, they can also see a list of library books that can assist in preparing budget-friendly and healthy meals.
