Austroads is about to start consulting on a Regulatory Impact Statement for the National Heavy Vehicle Driver Competency Framework (NHVDCF).
Industry input has already been used to develop stronger licence training and assessment standards so this is a welcome piece of progress after five years of work.
You may recall that NHVDCF was endorsed in 2011 by the Standing Committee on Transport as part of a set of national road safety laws and guidelines.
Members will be kept up to speed about the two-month consultation process and your input will be welcome.
