A new community transport service is making it easier for older residents in Scoresby and Rowville to get out and about, with trips to Stud Park Shopping Centre.
The fortnightly shopping service has been designed to support older residents who may no longer drive, have limited access to transport, or find it difficult to travel independently. By providing a reliable way to reach local shops and services, the program aims to help residents maintain their independence and stay connected with their community.
Operating every second Monday, the service will collect eligible residents from their homes in Scoresby and Rowville and transport them to Stud Park Shopping Centre. Passengers will have approximately three hours to shop, attend appointments, enjoy a coffee, or catch up with friends before returning home.
The service is delivered through Council’s Community Transport program and uses Council’s accessible community bus fleet, with space for up to eight passengers per trip.
In addition to making shopping more accessible, the service offers an opportunity for residents to get out of the house, meet new people and enjoy greater confidence in staying active and involved in everyday community life.
The new route is part of Council’s commitment to supporting older residents to age well in Knox by improving access to essential services and reducing social isolation.

Pick-up times: 9.30am and 10.30am

Transport: Door-to-door service (subject to property access assessment)
Time at destination: Approximately three hours
Who can use the service: Eligible Knox residents aged 65 years and over who experience transport barriers, residing in the Rowville and Scoresby area.
