The iconic SeaFire fireworks competition will colour the skyline of Surfers Paradise Beach this Saturday (4 June) bringing with it a diverse range of music and entertainment to the City.

“It’s been too long since we’ve seen our most iconic beach lit up thanks to our City’s very own international fireworks competition,” Deputy Mayor Donna Gates said.

“SeaFire is a free family event so bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the show and this city’s rich and vibrant culture.”

South America and Africa, two of the world’s best pyrotechnic regions, will compete on the shores of Surfers Paradise Beach for the coveted title of the competition.

Three breath-taking firework and music displays will light up the sky at 7pm and 8pm, with the grand finale at 8.45pm.

“The event has been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of spectators since its inception in 2012 and I expect this year to go above and beyond – and out with a bang,” Deputy Mayor Gates said.

The fireworks will be complemented by performances along the foreshore and Cavill Mall.

Expect to see the ZimBoyz with their acrobatic comedic street show, local DJ’s, traditional Brazilian drummers, Capoeira displays and Samba dancers.
