Unsurprisingly there was a limited focus on Disability in the Victorian State Budget.
Nevertheless, NDS welcomes a number of targeted assistance measures which are detailed below.
The additional support for carers, and the funds to provide greater security for children in out of home care are valued and the additional funds to make schools both more accessible and inclusive are worthwhile measures.
Budget Highlights
It is expected that a number of these measure will need to be funded for many years going forward but given the worker registration scheme is not scheduled to formally commenced until 1 July 2020, it is not surprising that funding has only been allocated for next year.
