Lithgow City Council Thanks Local Health Care Workers

Lithgow Council

Lithgow City Council has extended a thank you to all local health care workers for their work during the Covid 19 health crisis.

“Our community is extremely fortunate for the huge efforts of our health care workers over the past two years in helping us through this “once in a century” pandemic,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham.

“Many people in this community were affected directly by the Covid virus – either themselves or their family, friends and loved ones. Many experienced a threat to their livelihoods, separation from loved ones, had to adjust to home schooling or had their plans put on hold.”

“Let’s take this opportunity then as a community to thank all the local health staff who contributed so much to getting us through the pandemic, often at considerable risk to themselves.” Let’s remember too that the fantastic work done by doctors, nurses and aged care workers is made possible by the work of health administrators, health support- staff, cleaners, ward and kitchen staff, our community mental health teams, GP’s and pharmacists.”

“This should be a reminder to us all of how much we rely on the health services network and how important it is that Lithgow has strong, locally based and well funded health services,” concluded the Mayor.
