Local Artists In Fundraising Art Show: Bayside

A vibrant celebration of creativity and compassion is set to unfold at the upcoming Fundraising Art Show, organised by Bayside Women’s Shelter in partnership with Bayside Council.

Celebrating International Women’s Day 2024 #countHERin, the event aims to raise funds for the crisis accommodation shelter in the Bayside community, bringing together art enthusiasts, supporters, and philanthropists for a meaningful cause.

Featuring a diverse range of captivating artworks spanning various mediums, the art show promises to dazzle attendees with its visual splendour and emotive depth.

Each piece tells a unique story and offers a glimpse into the artists’ creative souls. In addition to showcasing artistic talent by women, the Art By Women will also provide an opportunity for attendees to make a difference in their community.

Proceeds from entry donations collected, and fundraising activities during the event will directly benefit the women and children in Bayside Women’s Shelter, focused on education, healthcare, and social welfare, making a tangible impact on the lives of those in need.

“We are thrilled to bring together the power of art and philanthropy in support of our community,” said Dr Christina Curry, chair of Bayside Women’s Shelter. “Through the universal language of art, we aim to inspire generosity, foster unity, and create positive change that resonates far beyond the Show’s walls.”

There will be art classes across the weekend, our Café Compassion with tea, coffee and cakes, raffle including amazing artworks and a piece donated by Camilla, and a Town Hall meeting to discuss domestic and family violence and how to respond on Sunday at 2pm.

On Friday 8 March, International Women’s Day, we will hear from the amazing feature artist Louise Whelan, tickets $25 per head, 5-7pm.

Art By Women will take place at the historic Botany Town Hall on 8-11 March, offering art enthusiasts a unique opportunity to appreciate exceptional artworks while contributing to a noble cause. Attendees can expect the Town Hall filled with creativity, compassion, and the shared vision of building a brighter future for all.
