Local company gives helping hand to Monash students with donation of sanitiser for classrooms

Local company New Vivid Pty Ltd is giving Monash students and teachers a helping hand with hygiene, donating more than 3000 bottles of hand sanitiser for the classroom.

The donation of 1586 bottles of 500ml and 1872 bottles of 50ml Organic Choice hand sanitisers – to be distributed to 18 state primary and secondary schools across Monash – was coordinated through Council’s Community Response Team. The Community Response Team was established to be a central point to facilitate assistance and support Monash residents who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each classroom will receive two 500ml bottles and teachers will receive two 50ml bottles each.

New Vivid Pty Ltd, the exclusive distributor of Organic Choice is based in Mulgrave and the manufacturer of the products, Aware Environmental Ltd, is based in Dandenong.

Mayor Cr Stuart James said this donation was a great example of how businesses in a position to support the community have rallied to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

“We are very grateful for this generous donation of hand sanitiser bottles so students and their teachers can maintain good hand hygiene, which we now know is one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of COVID-19,” Cr James said.

“The return of students to school has been encouraging amid the enormous upheaval we’ve all experienced from the impacts of the virus, especially for teachers and families who’ve had to pivot to navigate online learning for these past few months.

“It is overwhelming to see Monash businesses supporting their local community with such generous gestures. I am so proud of the way our community has galvanised together and supported each other in these challenging times. A huge thank you to New Vivid Pty Ltd for this donation and show of support to the Monash community.”

Cr James said it was important to support local businesses and encouraged people to shop locally and look to Council’s Back our Businesses – Shop Local campaign for ways to help local businesses.
