South Australia’s startups are being encouraged to provide their thoughts and feedback in a new survey which aims to help the local sector to grow and develop.
Minister for Innovation and Skills David Pisoni said the confidential survey would provide valuable feedback about common challenges such as job creation, how best to raise capital and revenue, exports and growth.
“As our state begins to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and the bushfires earlier this year, now is the time to open the conversation about how we can best support local entrepreneurs and create an environment for businesses to grow,” Minister Pisoni said.
“South Australia’s established and budding entrepreneurs and their ideas will be critical to kickstart the economy and build confidence.”
South Australia’s Chief Entrepreneur Jim Whalley said that throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, he had observed the entrepreneurial ecosystem collaborating, and leaning on trusted support networks.
“It’s been really pleasing to see entrepreneurs, who are notorious for trying to go it alone, stick up their hands and ask for help and guidance,” Mr Whalley said.
“Seeking support is a crucial step in the long-term success of any business, and this is a trend I want to see continue post COVID-19.
“The FIXE Mentor Program was established to match startups with experienced business leaders and make these connections, and it is so important that we continue this kind of support, especially in this changing environment.
“Now is the ideal time to think how we can do things differently and build on the collaboration that is already happening.”
Eligible startups that complete the survey will have an opportunity to win one of 10 tickets to the _southstart conference in 2021.
