Local fire ban for north Queensland

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) has imposed a local fire ban for the period 1201am Thursday 12 September 2019 to 1159pm Friday 20 September 2019 for residents in the following Local Government areas:

• Boulia

• Burdekin

• Burke

• Carpentaria

• Charters Towers

• Cloncurry

• Diamantina

• Doomadgee

• Flinders

• Hinchinbrook

• McKinlay

• Mornington

• Mount Isa

• Palm Island

• Richmond

• Townsville

Under a local fire ban all open fires are prohibited and all Permits to Light Fire which have been issued in the designated areas have been cancelled.
