Northern Grampians Shire Council has partnered with Stawell Regional Health and Grampians Community Health on a joint communications project to keep the community informed and safe during the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic.

The project aims to promote clear and consistent messaging around local services, public health messaging and what precautions the community can take to remain well and create a COVID-19 Safe Community.

Shared communications are provided via a community newsletter with information on hygiene, local health services, and resources and information hub at 108 Main Street with hints, tips and service information.

In June the group is hosting a business information online workshop to keep everyone updated on operating under current restrictions.

The strategy will allow the organisations to work together to put easily understood precautionary measures in place to provide COVID-19 safe environments that protect people who live, work

and visit Stawell and the surrounding districts.

Northern Grampians Shire Council CEO, Liana Thompson, said the project is a wonderful demonstration of community leaders coming together with a clear objective to support the region.

“I am very excited about this project and the opportunity to work with the CEOs and leaders of our healthcare providers to ensure our community is informed and prepared against this virus,” she said.

“As restrictions in Victoria begin to lift and we start returning to our normal lives, this project will assist everyone to stay safe, stay protected, and stop the spread of Coronavirus.”

“This campaign is about wanting our community to be motivated to keep on being careful and safe in their daily lives in response to the easing of restrictions.”

“Together, we will all be providing crucial and practical information directly to the public and to business so everyone can do their bit to keep our towns safe.”

Feedback, suggestions, and input into the project from members of the public are welcome via email to [email protected].
