Local Musician To Lead Theatre’s 40-year Celebration

Griffith Regional Theatre was officially opened on Saturday, 14 March 1987, and to mark its 40th Birthday, plans are underway for a Celebration Concert on Sunday, 14 March 2027.

Theatre Manager, Margaret Andreazza, said she was excited to announce that local creative and musician Larissa Pfitzner has been appointed as the Creative Director for the concert.

“Larissa will work closely with me and the Theatre team to produce an event that celebrates 40 wonderful years of live entertainment in Griffith and the many performers and performances that have taken place at our Theatre.”

Ms Pfitzner said brings years of experience as part of the local music scene, playing in bands including in the three Community Musicals, teaching music and assisting with past Carols by Candlelight events.

“I am super excited to have been chosen as the Creative Director for this very special event celebrating our Griffith Regional Theatre.”

“Together with Marg, we plan to find images from past shows, have past performers revisit the stage, and tell the stories of how the Theatre came to be such an important part of our community”, she said.

Mrs Andreazza said “People can expect to hear more about this Gala event soon, and how they might be involved as performers. Tickets for the Gala Concert will be released at a later date once the program has been finalised.”

“We have a lot of old files to look through of the Theatre’s history, but if anyone out there has some written or photographic history or old memorabilia they think may be useful in our preparations, please feel free to drop in and see me at the Theatre.” Mrs Andreazza said.
