Mackay Hospital and Health Board members reappointed for another term

Mackay’s Hospital and Health Board remains unchanged this year with members David Aprile, Helen Caruso, Adrienne Barnett and Dr Elissa Hatherly reappointed to the nine-person board.

Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Yvette D’Ath said the current members had a proven record as board members and would continue to join continuing members Darryl Camilleri, Annabel Dolphin, Professor Richard Murray, Suzanne Brown and Tom McMillian to ensure the ongoing delivery of excellent health services to Mackay residents.

“This year’s reappointees have served the Mackay Hospital and Health Board for at least one term and it’s great to have them continue in their positions,” Ms D’Ath said.

Mr Aprile has been a board member since 2013 and is also a practising community pharmacist, as well as serving on a range of community and not for profit boards in past years.

Mrs Caruso has been a board member since 2020 and has extensive experience as a chartered accountant.

Ms Barnett has been a board member since 2019, and also devotes her time to multiple community boards and organisations including the Kutta Mulla Gorinna Inc, MurriWatch Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation, and MARABISDA Inc.

Dr Hatherly has been a board member since 2019 and is an experienced GP and has also shared her knowledge by teaching and mentoring medical students.
