Major drug supply syndicate dismantled; three arrested, NSW

Police have arrested three men and dismantled an alleged south western Sydney drug syndicate after seizing more than 1.5kg of drugs and more than $350,000 cash.

In February 2018, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad established Strike Force Tippet to investigate large-scale drug supply operating across south west Sydney.

Following extensive inquiries, yesterday (Friday 22 March 2019), strike force detectives, with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad, executed three search warrants at units in Peakhurst and Belmore.

Officers seized 1.4kg of white powder believed to be cocaine, methamphetamine, 130g of suspected GHB, numerous vials of steroids, more than $350,000 cash, designer clothes, mobile phones, documentation and three vehicles – a Toyota Hilux, Toyota Hiace and Volkswagen Passat.

Two men – both aged 22 – were arrested after allegedly trying to flee from police on Peace Avenue, Peakhurst.

One of the men was taken to St George Police Station where he remains under police guard.

The second man, from Kingsgrove, was taken Kogarah Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime (x2), and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

A 22-year-old Riverwood man was arrested after a vehicle stop on Timothy Lane, Belmore.

He was taken to Campsie Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (between indictable and commercial quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and knowingly direct activities of criminal group.

They were both refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 23 March 2019).

Investigations under Strike Force Tippet continue.
