A man and two teenagers have been charged after the alleged stolen vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a light pole in the City’s south.
About 11.45pm yesterday (Sunday 4 October 2026), officers from St George Police Area Command and the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command responded to reports of a van travelling south bound along King Georges Road, Beverly Hills, where the occupants were allegedly wearing face coverings.
Initial inquiries established that the vehicle was allegedly stolen from Ridge Street, North Sydney, last Friday (2 October 2026).
Shortly after midnight (Monday 5 October 2026), officers allegedly observed the vehicle heading north bound along the Princess Highway, Arncliffe.
A short time later, the vehicle crashed into a light pole on Brodie Sparks Drive, Wolli Creek, before the occupants attempted to run from the scene.
A 17-year-old girl was arrested at the scene, and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries, before she was taken to hospital in a stable condition, under police guard.
During a search of the vehicle and surrounding area, police allegedly located and seized a number of items, including latex gloves and a large hunting knife.
They vehicle has been seized for forensic examination.
With the assistance of additional police – including PolAir and the Dog Squad – five males, including an 18-yar-old man, two 16-year-old boys and another two 15-year-old boys – were arrested in surrounding streets.
The were taken to Kogarah Police Station where the man and teenage girl were charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Sutherland Local Court on 20 October 2026, and
The girl was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Monday 5 October 2026).
A 16-year-old boy was also charged with Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Monday 5 October 2026).
The three other teenage boys were dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
