A man has been arrested after allegedly fleeing from police in a stolen car in Bendigo this morning.
Police sighted an allegedly stolen Toyota Prado driving erratically through Eaglehawk about 6.30am.
With the assistance of the Air Wing, the Prado was followed through Junortoun where the offenders, believed to me a man and a woman, allegedly then stole a Mazda Cx9 from an address on McConnell Drive.
The Air Wing continued to monitor overhead as the male offender drove the Prado through the outer suburbs of Bendigo.
Officers made attempts to deploy stop sticks at both Mandurang Road and Nankervis Road in Strathfieldsaye but both attempts were unsuccessful.
The Prado then travelled back to the Bendigo CBD where the driver crashed into a signpost at the corner of Myers and Mundy streets.
The driver fled on foot before climbing onto a roof of a property on Mollison Street.
Police negotiated with the 27-year-old man of no fixed address who was then arrested without incident.
The female offender has not been located and the stolen Mazda remains outstanding.
It is alleged the Prado was stolen from Edgewater Close in Eaglehawk sometime overnight on 23 July.
