A man has been arrested following a series of incidents across Keilor and Airport West this afternoon where car windows were smashed and cars run off the road.
It is understood the 35-year-old Meadow Heights man first drove into a grey Honda at a shopping centre on Westfield Drive in Airport West about 12.30pm.
The man then took off in a 2008 blue Mazda sedan towards the Calder Freeway, where he exited the vehicle and began to smash the windows of multiple vehicles parked outside a nearby supermarket.
Officers have been told the man then got back into the Mazda before entering the Calder Freeway and colliding with several vehicles.
Luckily, the other drivers were not physically injured.
When the man again attempted to flee the scene, he was arrested by a passersby, who restrained him until police arrived a short time later.
He will be interviewed in relation to the incidents.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV or dashcam footage or anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit an online confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
