Man arrested on drug and counterfeit cash charges at Sussex Inlet, NSW

A man has been charged with drug and counterfeit money offences as investigations continue into an armed robbery and attempted armed robbery on the South Coast last year.

State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Dalwood to investigate an armed robbery at a registered club at Sussex Inlet in July 2019 and an attempted robbery at a registered club at Callala Beach in September 2019.

As part of ongoing investigations, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a property at Sussex Inlet about 7am today (Wednesday 3 June 2020).

During the search, investigators seized methylamphetamine and counterfeit cash.

A hydroponic set up was also located in a rear shed, and 12 plants were seized.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 40-year-old man during a vehicle stop on Sussex Inlet Road.

He was taken to Ulladulla Police Station, where he was charged with cultivate prohibited plant, possess prohibited drug and possess counterfeit money.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Milton Local Court on Thursday 16 July 2020.

Investigations under Strike Force Dalwood are continuing.
