Man before court after strike force into supply of prohibited drugs, NSW

A man will re-appear before court today on multiple drug related charges following an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in the state’s north.

In April 2020, officers attached to Central North Police District, with the assistance of Walgett Detectives and Proactive Crime Team established Strike Force Spessartine to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in Walgett Shire.

At about 8am on Friday (17 July 2020), police attended a home on Slacksmith Street at Burren Junction where they arrested a 61-year-old man in relation to the investigation.

A search warrant was conducted at the home, during which an amount of prohibited drugs, Tabaco, cash and electronic storage devices were located and seized.

The man was taken to Walgett Police Station where he was charged with ongoing supply of prohibited drugs (x2), supply prohibited drug > indictable quantity, supply prohibited drug small

He was refused bail and appeared before Dubbo Local Court on Saturday (18 July 2020), where he was again bail refused to re-appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Monday 20 July 2020).
