Following investigation into a series of events near Cervantes in the early hours of Tuesday 26 September 2023, Homicide Squad detectives have overnight charged a 19-year- old Hamilton Hill man with a number of serious offences.
It will be alleged the charged man crashed his Mitsubishi Pajero on Indian Ocean Drive near the Cervantes Road turnoff.
The 38-year-old male victim was driving a red SUV along Indian Ocean Drive when he came across the accused. It will be alleged an incident occurred between the two which resulted in the victim’s death. The red SUV is the vehicle which was located in the ocean off Cervantes later on Tuesday morning.
The 19-year-old Hamilton Hill man has been charged with:
• Murder;
• Aggravated Criminal Damage by Fire; and
• Stealing a Motor Vehicle.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Thursday 5 October 2023.
