Man charged after 10kgs of methylamphetamine found in suitcase – Sydney

A man has faced court today after being charged with allegedly supplying prohibited drugs.

About 3pm yesterday (Thursday 31 October 2024), detectives attached to the Drug & Firearm Squad commenced inquiries after reports a man was in possession of a large quantity of drugs in Sydney.

Following investigations and with the assistance of the Sydney City Police Area Command, about 4.15pm, a 25-year-old man was stopped on Market Street, Sydney and was subsequently searched.

During the search, police located and seized approximately 10kgs of methylamphetamine within a suitcase and a mobile phone.

The man was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to large commercial quantity.

He was refused bail to appear before Downing Centre Local court today (Friday 1 November 2024), where he was again refused bail to reappear on (Thursday 16 January 2024).
