Orana Mid Western Police have charged a man after he allegedly stole cash and car keys from a business in the state’s west earlier this month.
About 12.30pm on Sunday 12 July 2026, police were called to a business on Lawson Street, Warren, following reports of a break and enter.
On arrival, officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District found that the front door to the business had been forced open and a number of items stolen including cash and car keys from a safe.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.
Following extensive inquiries, including a forensic examination of the scene, police attended a home on Johns Avenue, Dubbo, about 12pm today (Wednesday 22 July 2026).
On arrival, police arrested 31-year-old man before searching the property where they located and seized a number of items believed to have been stolen including three sets of car keys. They will all undergo forensic examinations.
The 31-year-old was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with break & Enter house steal value less than or equal to $60,000, goods suspected stolen in/on premises (motor vehicle), breach of bail and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic).
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Local Court 4 tomorrow (Thursday 23 July 2026).
