Geelong Divisional Response Unit detectives charged a man after an extended follow in Ocean Grove yesterday.
Officers were called to reports of an unknown man in the shed of a property on Arkins St in Point Lonsdale just before 9.30am.
The man was approached by the property owner and allegedly fled in a white Mitsubishi Triton.
There were no injuries.
The Air Wing followed the stolen Mitsubishi as it drove through the streets of Ocean Grove, allegedly reaching speeds of up to 135km/h.
It was dumped near a playground at the intersection of Omega Drive and Empress Boulevard in Ocean Grove where officers moved in, arresting the 22-year-old driver.
The man was charged with:
• burglary
• theft of motor vehicle
• theft from motor vehicle
• fail to stop on police direction
• drive manner dangerous
• reckless conduct endangering serious injury (x2)
• drive whilst disqualified
He was remanded to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court today.
